Greetings and salutations, fellow Minusians! After a record-breaking 3 days in development, our new AVATAR CROPPING feature is live and ready to go.

On most areas of the site, avatars must have a 1:1 ratio in order to keep from breaking the layout. The default center positioning just wasn't doing it for everybody - so we overhauled the whole thing, bringing you the finest avatar cropper Valve Laboratories has to offer. Go ahead, find me another forum that lets you do this!

As always, thanks for playing.

eh, for Security Purposes (and getting the lock icon to be green in the address bar) i'd want to move us away from allowing http embedded content. The security purposes aren't _that_ big of a deal since if it was the browser would block http images entirely rather than show them and complain but since https is now free to set up and negligible in cost for requests over http i imagine any competent image hosting service would offer an https option soon if they aren't already. (and you probably shouldn't put too much faith in the ones that don't offer https).

linking to http content is fine for whatever too, so i dont think we'd really Miss Out on too much
what if we had a filter to turn http imgur imgs into https and stuff like that, once we fix up the avatar situation?
