We should come up with hottest used / hottest recieved reactions

Since almost every
body
has most used/received as Grin maybe we should come up with some sort of algorithm that determines what a user's hottest used/received reactions are. I can't think of a way the math would work out but maybe something in the equation that determines if it's the user's most uniquely used/recieved? Like if they've used that reaction more than any
body
else or received that reaction more than any
body
else. Maybe based on a percentage of the user's posts so users who post more than others can't hijack a reaction. Or maybe not needed if the reactions are tiered and spread across the users. So like, right now we have 77 reactions so maybe, for example, the 1/77th of users who use Grin more than every
body
else get that added as their most used and then the other 76/77ths of users have whatever reaction they use the most other than that, and so on. Same for most received.

Just some ideas, let's brainstorm this.

LOL

Yeah "hottest" came to mind because of the way Imgur and Reddit handle top comment. In the case of those sites I think it's terrible but in the case of doing it here it might give us something interesting to look at.

Is there any method for adjusting "most used" statistics for a specific user, to compare them against global "most used" stats?

For example nearly EVERYBODY'S top 3 spells are Feelin' Fab, Give a Sh*t, and Autocorrect, and it makes the stat not really useful. How can we compare that against the global stats to determine which spells/reactions a user receives more often than the average user? If that even makes sense

I just think the entire stat screen is useless as it stands.

Even if you were to compare against the average user the results would still be the same thing, because there's just such an overwhelming amount of those spells being used, and the "average user" in terms of MW is an account with like two posts and NO spells/reactions.

I think the stat screen is overall just a failed experiment. It's simply not useful. Even the used/received will never ever change because everyone overwhelmingly gets/gives Grin. In fact, just because of the nature of the posts on this site, something like 80% of posts have Grin on it, and MAYBE I'll see like an Airhorn or a Despair every once in a while.

I just don't think there's an effective way of solving that problem honestly.

I mean adjusting the calculation so "grin" would only be someone's most used/received reaction if they use/receive it more often than the majority of users

Like, get all of a user's reactions by a percentage out of 100, get the one with the highest percentage, and only count it if the percentage is higher than average, otherwise move on to the next highest percentage

I refuse to believe this kind of calculation isn't a thing that exists but I don't know how to search for it
