Here's the spreadsheet if you already know what's up!!!!

What's up MW? How's the Killing Game going? Because I'm enjoying it a lot, and I think the NPCs are really neat, but I think we could use something to do when we're waiting for the next phase to start. So I decided the most natural thing to do is set up an NPC Dead Pool!

Here's how this is going to work:

-Everyone playing submits guesses for which NPCs survive, the order the the NPCs will die in, and the night that each NPC will die on. Your guess is scored on these three factors.

-Because we don't know exactly how long the game will be, the Night that you guess an NPC will die on can be formatted either as X Nights from the start or X Nights from the end. Night guesses need to be specific. X Nights from the end will be written on the spreadsheet as X+1nd Last for consistency's sake.

-First place players split 50% of an EX pot, second place splits 25%, third place splits 15%, and remaining players who score more than 0 points split the rest as a consolation prize.

-First place will also receive a unique NPC DEAD POOL BADGE (design pending, draku approved)! But in order to keep up the spirit of friendly competition, I won't award badges if there are more than two people with the top score.

-In order to join, you need to donate at least 100 EX to @LottoBot , who is serving as the pot. You can give more than that and add more if you like, but I need everyone to post exactly how much they're donating, including if they add more later.

-If the pot gets more than 5000 total EX in it, however, then anyone is free to join without donating EX, although donations will still be accepted. Note that the pot has already reached well above 5000 EX, so everyone is welcome to join without donating now.

-The more precise your guess is, the more points you score. If Xavier dies Night 5, you would get 5 points if you guessed he would die Night 5. But if you guessed he would die Night 4 or 6, that's called Placing, and you instead get 2 points. If you guessed he would die Night 3 or 7, that's called Showing, and you only earn 1 point. Guesses more than + or - 2 from the actual Night get no points.

-The same rules apply for Placement. The order of NPC deaths that you provide is compared to the actual order. For instance, if you bet Liz dies second, what the fuck is wrong with you? But if she does, you get 5 points; first or third, 2 points; fourth, 1 point, and if you bet she would survive, you don't get any points.

-If two NPCs die on the same Night, their placement is considered interchangeable, even if you technically guessed they'd die on different nights. Remember, your guesses for the Placement and the Nights are scored separately.

-If you guess exactly which NPCs live and which die, you get a Survivors bonus of 5 points. However, you have to be exact; you won't get partial credit if you're off by one. If all the NPCs die and you guessed that, you get this bonus.

-After the end of the KG, the Night score, Placement score, and Survival bonus are all tallied, and everyone playing is ranked. The player whose guesses were the most accurate would receive the most points and win. The theoretical maximum points is 45- 20 points for Night score, 20 points for Placement score, and 5 points for Survivor bonus.

-If you only want to submit guesses for Placement, you can, but you'll score fewer points overall. You can't submit just Night guesses without guessing Placement, obviously.

-If you don't score any points, you're branded a LOSER, and you don't get any EX, even as a consolation prize.

-If an additional NPC is added later in the game, I'll add a separate EX prize pool for players to guess when it will die. Additional NPCs will NOT be added to the main NPC pool or the Placements.

-All players and spectators are welcome to join! I'm also allowing the GMs Despair and Archer to join. However, I'm disqualifying them and myself from placing in the rankings or earning the Badge; instead, all we can do is collect the consolation prize.

-After the game, I'm going to post each player's score and winnings in the interest of fairness. Exact scores can also be tracked on the spreadsheet.

-Only one bet per person. Please try to use your Main accounts on the forums to sign up, too. If I haven't met you before, and you're brand new to the site, and you don't know someone on Minus World who can vouch for you, I have a right to refuse your bet if I think you're a dupe.

-If anybody wants to cancel, I can give back their EX and remove the bet from the spreadsheet. Just let me know.

-Please do NOT add actual money to the pot. This is all in good fun, and I very much do NOT want to actually have gambling or real money involved.

-This Dead Pool is just for fictional characters made for this dumb forum game. We are not speculating on the deaths of any living person or anything like that.

As players submit bets and the pot is updated, I'm going to update the spreadsheet. As you can see, I already have a few samples of how the spreadsheet will be scored at the end, and I have also listed my own bet.


So! I understand that Night 2 is going to take a couple of days to come out due to real life stuff, and if necessary I can talk with the current GMs to give people time to join up here if they like.

NPC bets are officially CLOSED now that Night 2 results are out! So please, get those bets posted and that EX donated if you want to join in on the fun! The more, the merrier! And remember, I can still accept additional EX after Night 2! EDIT: We've reached more than 5000 EX, so I'm allowing everyone to bet even if they don't make an EX donation!

Also, thanks to Dude's utterly ludicrous donation of 6000 EX, I'll accept bets from ALL PLAYERS regardless of whether they donate EX! The Pot currently stands at 8550 EX.

Additionally, I will be accepting bets for "the last night," or "the third from last night," et cetera. If anyone wants to adjust their bets with this in mind, feel free to!

I tweaked the rules a little. Nothing actually changed, I just clarified a few things, reworded a couple of rules, and applied spell check. Don't forget to get your guesses in before Night 2 results are out!
