Character 12: Starting Point / Backstory

I know this is a bit early, but I wanted to get it out there now so we can plan around 12 while working on 10 and 11. It would kind of suck to come up with a neat design for 11 then find out it would fit better for 12.

Anyways, here are the words for our final character:

Armored
Charity
Cursed

Using these three words as a prompt, come up with a backstory fitting for a Killing Game character. What are they like? Where are they from? What kind of things do they do? What experiences have they had?

If you do not wish to contribute a full backstory you can just give pieces and we can collectively build up the character together.

There is such thing as too much of a good deed. A muscular, valiant hero who one day purchased enchanted armor from a warlock, with the promise of eternal life and power. It granted his wish, but at a terrible price. The armor was bound to him for life. The helmet cursed to remain on his head, the gauntlets shackled on his arms, the chestplate all but welded to his abs, the homoerotic jockstap of destiny emblazoned upon his bul-

In order to maintain his life, he must continuously perform good deeds to others, atoning for the curse the warlock placed upon the armor. Once a deeply religious man who stood up for the misfortunate, he willingly performed small actions of kindness for others, but now to pay for his lust for glory, he must continuously keep doing them, even against his will. Yet, he doesn't know when the curse will end, and the constant centuries of heroism is beginning to take its toll. No longer does he do these deeds out of chivalry--he now despises humanity and the people he helps. Perhaps that was the warlock's intention?

He seeks the technology to rid him of this armor for good, as any self-attempt on his life has ended in failure due to the curse. He has waited centuries for the methods of science to catch up with the underground enchantments of yore.

This might be too similar to the sentai idea, but I figure the sentai suit is a proper and wanted transformation from jerk to hero, whereas this is almost the reverse, a hero forced into doing good for others until he breaks.

Wearing fully plated armor, they're someone who truly believes that they were once a great warrior of the medieval era, they act as if they're a ghost of their former self. Whatever's in their mind is constantly plagued by the fought of being cursed to live in a wretched world for eternity, or at least, to find whatever's keeping them from resting in peace. And so they roamed the world, searching for answers, but alas, nothing was found.

While in that quest for self-discovery, they grew up to become a selfless person, always prioritizing others' safety and happiness to their own. Whether it be the cause of them regretting their own being, or to figure out if achieving peace with others will let them pass on, the generosity has become second nature to them at this point: Helping others has become impulsive, subconscious even.

Turns out they're just really good at LARPing, to the point of fooling their own self.

e; Despite their generosity and tendency to aid others, they also tend to stay away from crowds when possible, for fear of throwing a curse on the group.

This character was born to a serf and grew up in poverty. He longed to be a powerful knight and provide a better future for his children than his father could provide for him and his several siblings. At an early age he started training. What he lacked in strength and dexterity he made up for with heart and chivalry. He became well respected and was recruited to be one of the King's personal army.

Still a young man at the time, he desired even more power. While washing his equipment in a small lake he encountered a fairy. Or was it a warlock? The trivial details matter not. The point is he was offered a deal. He accepted. The magician enchanted his armor with what he initially believed to be a blessing, but later discovered to be a curse. In exchange for an agreement to always be performing actions of good will the armor would protect his life. A minor detail was left to the fine print. He was unable to take the armor off.

Seven hundred years later he still roams the Earth performing chivalrous acts. The armor prevented any attempt on his life. His body stopped aging as well. His mental state doesn't quite match his physical appearance. More than anything he wants to rest, but the armor compels him to live on and forcibly moves his body to help others. Frankly he is quite sick of it and is willing to take almost any way out. His patience with the human race has expired.

Actually, that's just all fake. This character is a thespian and medieval fantasy nerd. He is actually in his late-20s. He started out playing the cursed knight for a live action role play at a renaissance fair. He got a bit way too much into the character though and found himself living in the role day in and day out. Eventually he got to the point where he became so deluded that even he believes that he is an immortal knight from the Dark Ages. His friends and family have accepted it by this point and treat him as the character.
