For some reason I think about this often

Imagine how much it must have sucked ass to live in a hot area at any point in history before refrigeration. It's hot as fuck, and the only way you can cool down is with water that's also hot as fuck

But we were lucky enough to be born juuust late enough that throughout our entire lives, we've been able to grab a cold drink out of the fridge whenever we want

And what about fucking ice? It's like 80 degrees outside but I could go into my kitchen and grab as much goddamn ice as I want, right now. Can you even imagine how much of a luxury ice would have been if you lived in like, the old west or some shit? There are probably millions of people throughout history who lived their entire life and then died without ever experiencing water in a frozen state.
