Huh. I missed a lot. So this is the last day of this Killing Game, right? So you're probably going to try to escape next.

Double murder... well, make it worthwhile, then. Get both cases right, and one person will be guaranteed to not die during the finale.

Before Superchao can continue, though, Atua jolts back upright and smirks.

Well, that is unfortunate. I suppose I can't do anything about the motive he already added... but I can provide you a proper motivator to go with it.

There will be no throwing these cases and preparing for a clean escape. Get both cases wrong, and one of those living going into the finale will be guaranteed to die regardless of any plans or decisions you make.

...I'll admit, I'm a little rusty. I think I've done my part so far, at least.

Kroos seems like a good candidate for Hollywood Bowl.

As for Nico... Seems like she killed herself, no? With Jessica setting up certain elements, of course.

Not the first time I've seen someone commit suicide in one of these.

Hah... kind of sad that I never got to take out that guy with the prosthetic toilet myself in the end, but at least this is the last time we have to do one of these votes. Can't say I'll miss getting put on the spot like this. Not like I'm suddenly getting a conscience right at the end, but it feels better to take someone out the old fashioned way. 'Least they have a chance to fight back.

Except Deathborn, but I'll be honest - he deserved it.



Anyway, Kroos for Bowl, Nico Suicide - Jessica accomplice, obviously.

...That last one really grinds my gears too. I needed her alive to gather intel on Atua's weaknesses. She couldn't even be bothered to do that before she decided to off herself. Not like Jessica's innocent either on that front though. C'mon, you seriously couldn't have waited...



No hard feelings though, accomplice to accomplice. Game recognizes game - it was a good shot.

Maybe tell her to leave the bees at home though, next time.

[MORGAN] ...Besides. I have to pay her back one for what she did at the Central Facility. I don’t know how she survived, but...
[MARIA] Why did it have to be this way...?
[MORGAN] That’s the thing about this line of work. I wouldn’t be mad if you wanted out.
[MARIA] N-no, I understand. I don't put in the work out there, I can only imagine what it's like.

Not my proudest. I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t honestly believe it would help you get out of here alive. Had to happen to someone, that’s the nature of the game.

The fact is that Nico and I had a score to settle. Wasn’t kidding when I said I recognized her. Petty of me to settle a grudge like this, but if I had to choose one of you, it was gonna be her. Got no problems with the rest of you, not by a long shot.

Hmm hmmm. Well, it seems you have made your decisions. It is true, Nico had nothing to do with her own demise - that was the responsibility of Jessica, and the guest. I am sure they will be treated... respectfully.

But as for the unfortunate director, you are correct. He was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. And for that reason, the final execution. Oh yes, I know that even if I held another case, you would simply flee on your beloved train. To destroy it requires unshackling the rules of the ritual, abandoning the tools that keep you in the cycle of life and death.

It is quite good that I have prepared.

First, however... the final execution!

Kroos braces herself, the Keen Glint not planning to go down so easily. Even if no one had escaped the execution yet, there was no sense to just standing by and dying, not when the drive to survive was paramount. Immediately, she hurls a stick of dynamite at Atua, who simply bats it aside, watching as it explodes in midair. Falling back as he marches forward, she begins to fire off several arrows. They break against his skin, and Atua lunges into a dash, charging forward... only to watch as Kroos leaps up, aiming for him from the sky.

This arrow pings off his remaining horn, and it's clear from a wince that it actually affected him in a way that normally he wasn't. Something about those horns... but before Kroos can figure it out, Atua has leapt up as well, punching her hard and sending her skidding into the ground. She tries again, aiming the arrow at the stump of the broken horn. The way Atua staggers, it's clear that the horns are important. They were vital to Superchao's abilities, and as a consequence of taking his body, it's clear that breaking them affects Atua. However, the golden god continues to rise, and Kroos starts to worry. Hurling a couple more pieces of dynamite, Kroos tries to make sure she can do something, anything to stop the advance.

As she hurls one more, she fires an arrow, and it's targeted perfectly. It slams right into her last piece of dynamite, and carries it directly into Atua's horn! There's a powerful explosion, and the horn goes flying out of it...

And when the smoke clears, Atua charges out and grabs Kroos, missing both horns but clearly not down and out. Spinning around, he hurls her up into the air, before leaping up and slamming down after her. With Kroos falling upside down, it's easy for Atua to slam his leg into her neck and smash her into the ground, breaking her neck on impact. Stepping off, Atua begins to laugh, even as a golden glow begins to spread from his broken horns, shining across Silver Junction...

You are the Ultimate Demolitionist. Someone has to make the tunnels for mines and trains, and they know you're the best there is for this job. You have the ability to set any explosive to go off with any method you wish. Take a stick of dynamite - sure, you can just blow it up by lighting the fuse, but with your skills you could turn it into a timed bomb, a remotely detonated bomb, a pressure sensitive bomb... whatever method you want to make it trigger! And of course, you'll need supplies. You have the key to the Explosives Storage room, so get ready to make it a boom-bassa-boom festival!

Forbidden Action: There are certain doors on the map marked High Security. Don't blast any of them open with your bombs - and making a bomb you hand off to someone counts - or you're gonna be toasted in the process.

Operation Silver Junction investigative report, Day 10.

...Operator Jessica, reporting in. Operator Kroos was killed in the line of fire.

We were defusing a landmine left over by the cult that inhabited here, while working to rebuild parts of the town. She stepped in to protect me, and other personnel, as soon as she heard the ticking. I witnessed it from start to finish, each second in slow motion... she died a hero, Doctor. She tried so hard to help us all, and I...

I... I think I'll try to meet up with the old members of her squad, if when we return home. She wrote about them in here, and I can feel the pain seeping from the ink on the pages.


...while further reviewing Operator Kroos's previous reports, I was noted as "dishonorably discharged"... or killed in action... following the first day. I don't think that's wrong, and when you read this entry, you will probably ask how, or why. Doctor... I know why I am still alive, and why I am writing to you now. I don't know if I deserve to be... it's messed up, isn't it? That... she's gone, and I'm here. But at least I can finish writing on her behalf... I don't know if that's what she'd want... but it brings closure, I hope.
