Paper Mario Color Splash
When it was first announced, I was dreading this game and could not justify a Sticker Star sequel at all. But the more I hear about this game and the more Nintendo pumps out info about it, i am now convinced to buy it at some point because it looks like a genuinely good game.
i love how the public perception of the koopalings went to shit after they started appearing in literally everything
how is it "pandering to 3 year olds" when children are literally the intended target demographic
i mean, i hate the direction paper mario went in too but that's...not why

3 year olds dont play rpgs unless you're in japan

That isn't finished and would still probably be a lot more fun than this.I dunno, all I really wanted from this game was for the developers to put effort into it (and fix the broken battle system). Sticker Star was so insultingly soulless, so that was my #1 concern.
Fuck you Miyamoto, you took what were the two best Mario RPGs you had and bastardized them in favor of stupid gimmicks and pandering to 3 year olds. Thanks.
But that dialog is hilarious. There's so much palpable, honest-to-god effort put into these environments. And perhaps best of all, there's actually an expendable resource that gives battles a purpose.
I'd still prefer a TTYD type straightforward RPG, but like he says in the review, this is finally a new take on the Paper Mario formula that I don't have to despise, the main reason being they remembered to try this time.
And this is coming from someone who really wanted to hate this game. I mean the sticker/card mechanic is still iffy (attack points + an attack roster is always a better mechanic than "attack items", see MLSS vs PiT), but damn it all, the game actually looks like fun from where I'm sitting.

its funny that people say these games are being dumbed down for little kids meanwhile i still dont understand the timing for a good chunk of the attacks because neither this game nor sticker star make any effort to teach you how to do them
at least in this game i think there's like a practice dojo or something but i'm not gonna settle for being forced to have my hand held when in previous turn based paper mario games with the exact same attacks they're all incredibly easy to understand and execute

now they've been driven into the fucking ground and used in place of anything interesting for bosses in NSMB and took up a billion slots in mk8 on top of having a ton of effort put into them for smash skins

Yeah I'd like to play this, but I'll probably wait until I can get it used, because I still don't want Nintendo getting the idea that stickers aren't shit
