Paper Mario Color Splash
I've been watching gameplay and
battle system is pants
the lack of creativity in the characters is pants
the writing is charming but not enough to save anything
I hate the intense focus on puzzles and using a world map like the NSMB games
the first two games were perfect, makes no sense to toss that all away for. yea
also v tired of the koopalings NSMB made me completely hate them

i just finished the game and it bothers the shit out of me how much of a disappointment it was. the entire time i was trying to enjoy it because i really wanted to enjoy it but i just couldnt because the battle system still blows super hard. the worst part is in some areas i can tell there's little bits of creativity trying to peer through all the toad junk but its being held back by what i can only assume is miyamoto once again trying to stamp out all creativity the franchise has left in it
Play Kirby instead, he'll never let you down
the thing about kirby though is that the lower points of the franchise are always just okay or average at worst, it's really one of the few franchises i've seen that's almost always consistently good
