okay, so i went into my dark room where the blinds are always shut to grab this one pants hanger that i thought was white and brought it into the well-lit living room and...

... it turns out that the hanger was neon yellow.

While the Mandela Effect can be rationally described as mass confabulation, I think many people who post about its affects on places like 4chan and Reddit are self-aware. I'm not a fan of Reddit and I don't visit it very often, though that may change, I've lurked the Mandela Effect subreddit from time to time and whenever I see a skeptic thread I notice people generally take skepticism as wet-blanketness (so to speak) and confess that while they don't seriously believe in hypotheses about timeliness crossing over and/or CERN involvement, they see participation in Mandela Effect theories as something fun to roleplay about.

Sadly I don't think I can say the same thing about flat-earthers, as demonstrated by the like/dislike ratio of this video that has high production value and successfully puts the notion that the earth is flat to rest, using simple mathematics.

TW: slurs:
The ridiculous idea that the earth is flat didn't even deserve such an easy-to-understand debunking, and given the alarming amount of dislikes the video received, it seems to have largely fallen upon deaf ears. However, the optimistic side of me hopes that a majority of the dislikes are over offense at the video author's portmanteau of "flat earth" and the r-slur, but I see this as unlikely. The Flat Earth Society has members all across the globe. Jokes

Yeah, some do... unfortunately. Welp Proceed with caution. The optimistic side of me hopes they're roleplaying like the Mandela Effect people (just more intensely) but otherwise I guess Poe's Law applies.

FTR I participate in Mandela/Berenstein stuff because I think it's fun, and I've joked about believing the earth is flat, but I like to believe that it's always obvious when I'm joking about stuff. Then again, it may not be... so I need to be a bit more careful about the posts I make.

On a similar note, HylianDev thought I liked Trump until I pointed out that I didn't (unless he was joking about thinking I liked Trump... in which case I'm too socially awkward to understand that many ~layers of meta,~ so to speak.)

I mean I also made at least one "THIS IS IT, @GATO WAS RIGHT, I AM NOW A TRUMP SUPPORTER" thread (the first was a month or two ago IIRC) so I feel when I pull shit like that I don't have the right to blame other people for taking me seriously. Dead

Since I myself frequently fail in determining whether a post on the internet is serious or not, I wish I had realized sooner that I'm disqualified from the "come on guise I was just joking" routine. @Spritanium made a post at some point about this being a "social conciseness hack" (though it's possible I'm paraphrasing) but often, despite my memory serving that he was addressing me specifically when he posted this, I wonder if he forgot to factor my lack of social skills into the said sociological quip.

TLDR Version: Flat-earthers indeed exist, and as a dimwitted person myself, I'm comforted that there seem to be a large amount of normal, functioning neurotypicals who exist that are even more dimwitted than me. :V

Yes, good deduction. :P I want to try to ease into using this container account and eventually only post from my container in the Meta Forum. :V But yeah, good idea on the name suggestion! Cute Not sure if you were joking, but I actually think Puddin Pop sounds much catchier than Puddin Cup. Thanks! Hooray
