I don't know what to think about this movie, the visuals are great and the premise is silly but I never read the novels so I can't say I can see the potential for this as a franchise.

captain underpants is the weirdest shit to me

the books started what, like fucking 16 years ago? They were popular among kids, the the author took like a 9 year break and started doing them again

who is reading these now starting with the fucking like 12th book? surely no adult who read these as a kid/young teen is still invested in the captain underpants plot?

a lot of them were pretty standalone so i think he just enjoyed making em tbh

also one of the kids got confirmed gay in one of the books which was pretty cool
