I don't think MW has the collective mental proficiency to be a support group for someone like Mason, and I don't mean that as an insult, we just aren't equipped to deal with random hateful accusations (which will then later be apologized for (the apology for which will later be rescinded)) every day of the week. It's also really distracting behavior. Mason already has a therapist, and besides I don't think anyone in need of therapy can really benefit from a site where we fling shit at each other for fun.

However if he wanted to go back to being a regular if slightly-offbeat fucking normal dude, I certainly wouldn't object to him returning

Yeah Facey, even I'm advocating for the ban. The shit Mason pulled was beyond extreme and to the point of a clear mental health issue beyond any help we can provide. He said I was planning to kill him in person, with orders from Pedigree and Yrr, and Teddy's help in doxxing. He kept going back and forth on advocating for Nazi-tier ideology, saying it was a joke, then taking it to a personal extreme with specific members. We all tried to help him out and listen to his problems and take him in even as he kept apologizing then taking back apologies and making up the clearest of lies that everyone called him out on. I personally talked with Mason more than I needed to, and he still acted like this. I'm also 100% certain that the Quickie-La account was a dupe, which adds to the fire some pretty unique issues about the things being said.

thanks for the insight on what happened, everyone. i can respect the notion that it isn't our responsibility to help him. i can't help but feel that some of the comments i've seen on the board only exacerbated his animosity towards us as a community, though. we've known for a long time that puddin has mental health issues, and i saw a number of mean-spirited jokes during the course of the events that could easily have been described as gaslighting. i'm not trying to defend his usage of slurs or his nazi ideologies, but at the same time i don't think the way he's conducted himself recently was not entirely unprovoked. we can't expect someone to treat us with respect if we're not going to do the same for them. which is fine; respect who you want to respect, but his breakdown comes as no surprise to me. this is coming from someone who used to partake in bullying puddin excessively.
