In fact, add the dimensions field from old mw so that we can resize them on the forum itself if needed!

Wouldn't this only work if we hosted all the avatars ourselves

I don't think it worked like that before? You still had to hotlink/host your own.

can't you set a max-width and max-height or something
don't remember if that works on images
