Greetings, and welcome to the Space Opera Bet.
Today, we take a look at 2 shows that will begin to air in September: The Orville and Star Trek Discovery.
The Orville is a traditional space opera show in the style of Star Trek The Next Generation or Deep Space Nine... but with a comedic twist brought to you by *sigh* Seth McFarlane.
Star Trek Discovery is the newest entry on the Star Trek franchise, which has clearly seen better days. It promises a wild action romp in the vein of the latest 3 movies, in Paramount's further attempt to tell the die hard Star Trek fans to suck it and clear the premises for the new blood, right after the upset about Project Axanar.
So... After that sarcastic presentation and the trailers... Which of these shows do you think has actual promise? Let me know in the poll.
