Hmm... it all looks like it might've been suicide. I wasn't there when the fire started, and according to other testimonies, no person that's alive saw it, either.

I can't jump to conclusions now, but I'm going with the theory of it being either an accident or a failed attempt.

My evaluation of the case is that anyone could've trapped the oven, and we have no way to prove or disprove who. However, even if someone could have trapped the oven, I don't really know why Mr. Freeman would want to cook anything in the middle of the night. It seems much more likely that Mr. Freeman had ulterior motives for using the oven.
I claim that this was not murder, but a suicide.
