Coming Soon
Classes
Pick a class that suits your posting style (Babyface, Egotist, Healer, Wizard, or Lurker). Classes will mix things up by giving users perks (or drawbacks) depending on how they play the game. You will be able to change your class every 3 months.
Duels
Challenge other players to a duel! Pick a game (Rock Paper Scissors, EXP Race, and more) and bet some EXP. Winner takes all!
Pretty URLs
Because query strings are so 2006.
Far Future
Note that "far future" items aren't necessarily far into the future; we just haven't started officially planning them yet. Items near the top of the list may be completed relatively soon.
Account Switcher
We're still working out the specifics of this, but we would like to allow dupe/parody accounts using an account switcher. It's likely that these "sub accounts" will either share EXP with your parent account, or be unable to collect EXP at all.
Competitions Plugin
We're planning on bringing classic MFGG-style competitions back whenever people show a demand for them, but in the future we'd like to build an entire section of the forum for hosting competitions, as well as submitting and voting on competition entries.
Wordpress site
We want to have a sort of "sidesite" to archive some of MW's best moments and other noteworthy information. Eventually documents like the rules and strategy guide will be placed there. Keep in mind that the focus of MW is the forum itself, and this WordPress site will be more of an extension.
Upgrade to MyBB 2.0
Might be worth the upgrade if and when it ever comes out. However, we've already implemented many of the new features from the upcoming MyBB release, and our codebase differs pretty significantly from the official version. For that reason it might end up being better to keep patching MyBB 1.8 ourselves, but only time will tell!
MinusBB custom software
MyBB has worked great as a springboard for the new MW to get off the ground, but we've also discovered several fundamental problems, such as the weird template system and rampant use of global variables. For the next release of Minus World a few years from now, we want to go All Out and create an experience that is specifically catered to our demands. This includes the creation of custom software (tentative title MinusBB) that will breathe new life into the message board format even moreso than we already have
