Well... it's been a bit of time, hasn't it? Perhaps before things resume, it's best we bring everyone back up to speed. Such a lot has happened, after all - it'd be a shame if an important detail was lost, so close to the end.
Numerous nights ago, twenty-eight people arrived at the Nadare Medical Facility, a revolutionary medical facility ran by Dr. Morgan Pierce, previously of the XW Corporation, and her staff - renowned doctor Dr. Jim Hawke, frontier psychiatrist, Dr. Alexander Wexlyn, nurses Summer and Luna, and Lynn Tyrne, a medical intern. For reasons unbeknownst to all but themselves, they had all arrived at Nadare, on its opening in February 2025.
Disaster, as is wont to do, struck. Lynn Tyrne was viciously murdered by one of the patients in an act of self defense (alas, poor Misty.) Where things took a turn for the worst, is that yet another killing game was afoot. Not only that, but Lynn Tyrne was revealed to be a member of the elusive Crimson Eye, an infamous organization known for dabbling in that of the uncanny and the strange - and a further four members were confirmed to be on the resort somewhere.
As the nights passed, more deaths occured, and we began learning more of the sordid histories of the medical staff; Dr. Wexlyn's need to push past his family's bad history, Dr. Hawke's intense guilt and alcoholism, the nurses' complete and utter lack of interest in Senpai, and Dr. Pierce's past. As things progressed, it was revealed that the Crimson Eye were at Nadare for a specific reason - to secure and extract... something. Meanwhile, another party made themselves known - referred to as the "Coat Guy" for numerous nights, here for their own reasons. A hideout discovered in the nearby weather station revealed more, along with the existence of a Crimson Bullet.
Things reached a turning point when the Crimson Eye, in pursuit of their goal, began taking over the facility's AI in order to subvert the Killing Game for their own means. Step forward the coat guy, revealing themselves as Agent Liz Grayson - a member of the Bureau of Paranormal Investigation, here to investigate Dr. Pierce's motives, and offering to take out a member of the Crimson Eye - if the rest of the residents can come to a majority vote on who to shoot.
As the Crimson Eye inched closer to their goal, another mystery was beginning to loom, with Dr. Alexander Wexlyn taking the lead on it; who started the killing game? Who is the mastermind? Dr. Wexlyn had a plan to draw out the mastermind and kill them, hopefully ending the killing game with their death... while framing Dr. Pierce for the murder itself.
But why? What was the mastermind's motive? What is the Crimson Eye here for? The answer to all these was Lazarin, a medical substance created in a project overseen by Dr. Hawke and Dr. Pierce fifteen years ago. When taken, Lazarin can revive the dead - for a time. Constant doses were required, and the medicine too expensive to produce on a great scale. Many families were destroyed - either by the medicine itself, or the debt of trying to buy more - Summer Alvarez's being one of them.
Summer, with the help of an unknown party, set up this killing game, hid her identity, all in attempt to make Dr. Morgan Pierce pay - which, in a way, she did. The trial for Summer's death was tied between Dr. Morgan Pierce, and Dr. Alexander Wexlyn, and as the execution was under-way - the Crimson Eye made their move. Hijacking the facility AI wholly gave Dr. Pierce the moment she needed to survive the execution, and inject herself with void conduit.
The Crimson Eye, now in full control of the facility and the killing game, now but had one last barrier to their goal - a simple passworded vault, easily found in Pierce's personal journal. Now in possession of Lazarin, the leaders of the Crimson Eye gave the survivors an ultimatum - kill Dr. Hawke and finish off Dr. Pierce, and be free to leave in peace... or the killing game will continue.
In an act of petty revenge against those who lynched her and the Crimson Eye, Dr. Morgan Pierce then destroyed a vital piece of equipment in one of the lower floors of the facility - the Occult Engine, releasing the souls of the recently dead to re-inhabit their old bodies.
And now we are here. The Crimson Eye, in full control of this Killing Game, and in possession of Lazarin. Dr. Morgan Pierce, roaming the halls with her monstrous Crimson Devastator. The unrestful dead, wreaking havoc and planning revenge against the living. The twelve remaining residents and doctors.
