Not visual art, but I thought I'd drop the some of the music tracks I've written for DxHustler's posts, and do a bit of commentary and explain the process. The full playlist is here, including newer songs that I haven't written about here

Doggie Dog World : Show

This was the first track I wrote, and one I wanted to make sure captured the spirit of my dupe. I tried to convey sense of elitism and class through the instrument choices - harpsichords, violins, and clarinets, keeping it simple. At that stage, Hustler was still a lone wolf, and the meagre ensemble of instruments reflects that.

Structurally, I wanted it to sound a little goofy, but still regal. The melody is constantly trying to get higher and higher, straining itself before collapsing and shifting to a new tune. Towards the end of the track, the music suddenly slows down and becomes more sombre, with a very heavy choir backing up the chords. This was the first sign that something much more dramatic was going on, under the hood.

Lily Evans and the Hectillionaire's Secret: Show

Lily's theme! Here I decided to take those three instruments from before - harpsichord, strings, and clarinet - and assign them to each character in my hustler trio. Lily gets the clarinet, Hector gets the strings (contextualised here as a guitar, since he's much more free spirited and mellow without Hustler's presence), and Hustler gets the very fancy harpsichord.

So, this theme is mostly just the same tune at its core, with a few things changed around to give it a happier, but lonelier vibe. At 1:01, Lily's instrument starts playing Harry Potter motif, hinting at her relation to an existing character.

Dogfight by the Telluric Seal: Show

I'm going to be honest. I was watching a pirated copy of Kung Fu Panda 4 and Hans Zimmer made a really good and energetic arrangement of some pop song. I thought HEY I'm doing something energetic this phase I should just copy this song's structure. So I did. The Hustler motif is fairly malleable on purpose, to make it easy to adapt into various styles and chords.

When all the tracks are laid out here, you'll probably realise that I have pretty much just been remixing the same tune over and over again. I won't stop. I love the Hustler theme.

Anyway, I wanted to lead with this song in my testimony and interaction with the case - partially to uh, back up my stated alibi and position myself as a flashy seal defender, and partially because I think this track came out really well. I wasn't sure at first about keeping the harpsichord in such an action-packed song, but I think it worked out great in the end. Hans carried this track for sure.

Unmasked / Killer Revylled: Show

I wrote this one in a panic during the day phase where I killed Revy. I was convinced I was going to be lynched, so came up with Unmasked first, remixing the base theme in a much heavier, more imposing choir. So heavy, in fact, that it starts maxxing out your speakers, almost like the pure choir is too powerful to be contained. The chord sequence here is odd - isolated, it's actually a very pleasant progression as you can hear in the second half, but it gets completely drowned out by the overbearing melody and constant droning strings.

Once I survived the phase, I put Unmasked aside for later use and swapped the choir out for an Organ. In order to make it a bit more menacing and 'holier than thou', there are no more chord sequences - just a constant drone from the organ as the Hustler motif echoes throughout the song.

Hustlers will Graduate: Show

Oh hey, sweet, you can see all three of them hanging out! Structurally, this one borrows a lot from Homestuck's Moonsetter track, with a bouncy, cheery piano leading the song, backed up with strings. The cello gives it an almost nostalgic, bittersweet twinge, which then explodes into emotion alongside the violin. The melody here doesn't seem to closely match our main Hustler motif. Is the Hustler in this flashback so different from the character you see now? There's still bits of the motif, chopped up and rearranged to fit the song. At 0:58, however, the tune is directly lifted from the main Hustler track - the more hopeful break from the usual motif. What does it mean for this section to have survived the transition?

Of course, thinking in terms of the story's chronology, you could say that this song is Hustler's "true" theme, which was then taken apart and rearranged into the more familiar motif. Food for thought.

Not visual art and also slightly (PG-13 level probably, not explicit) spicy but I figure it's probably fine to post here and within forum rules/guidelines; wrote some KG9 fanfiction involving Astrid, Dexter, Lyra, Nancy, and a silly game involving a blindfold and some boob touching inspired by a conversation that broke out on the Discord server the other night. Ghost chat already saw it and reacted positively enough I guess and if I'm writing stuff based on the game I'd like to have it somewhere where it can actually be found and read if people want to read it. In spoiler for length and content. Yes I am sorry.

"--...I just wish I didn't have to be out in the fucking sticks like this," Dexter complained, tipping his glass of ginger ale up and taking a gulp. "Not that I think there's even anything paranormal going on here, I don't see it, but I wouldn't mind at least having a paying gig that isn't my podcast Patreon for once if the location wasn't so inconvenient. There's not even anywhere to get groceries besides the one Wawa. God forbid you need a new pair of pants or something and want to check them out and try them on."

Nancy Partridge. the one who'd asked him how he was liking the Central Facility, swished her tumbler in her hand, ice clinking in a turquoise-colored pre-mixed margarita. She threw it back too. "Well, it's not too bad. We do at least still get deliveries up here."

She took another sip, relaxed back on the couch, and let out a stifled chuckle. She was a tiny bit tipsy, he could tell. "Clothing though, you're very right. Some things you can get by shopping online but I'd rather not try buying a bra on Amazon, thank you."

"What size do you wear?", Lyra interjected, setting down her own drink. "It's a serious pain for me sometimes even buying in person."

Sip.

"32C," Nancy said. "I've never had much trouble finding something comfortable but I'd still like try it on before I buy."

Sip. Sip.

"At least a 30 fits me. I don't know what kind of troglodyte decides these things but I don't think I've ever even SEEN a band size under 30."

Sip. "...What's a band size exactly anyway?"

"--Kyeh!"

"You... Don't know what a band size is?", Astrid, previously sitting uncomfortably on the sidelines of the conversation with Spooks and surely only here because Nancy had coaxed her out of the observatory, spoke up.

"It's not like I've ever bought a bra," Dexter said defensively, "I don't wear them."

"Never had any girlfriends?", Nancy asked, not quite teasingly but her saying it with a smile did sting just a little.

"I have, but I didn't buy them underwear!", he said, waving his hand in the air. Sip. "I've got the whole squad laughing at me apparently."

"You should have," she laughed. "It can be a fun gift."

"...It's just the circumference of the chest under the bust," Lyra helpfully if smugly pointed out. "Come on, this isn't rocket science."

"Yeah, thanks Lyra. At least someone explained it for my dumb ass."

"Well, men usually don't know nearly as much about breasts as they think they do," Nancy said, downing some more of her drink. "Oh, you know in college, my sorority did this prank sometimes when we had boys come over to our parties, where we'd blindfold them and see if they could tell whose boobs they were touching and the cup size." She stifled a giggle. "Well, I'd say half of them said no, but sometimes they'd take us up on it~."

Dexter raised his ginger ale to his lips again and noticed Astrid raising an eyebrow at the story.

"...How about it?" Nancy leaned closer on the couch across from him, glancing side to side at the other two women. "I don't know if Astrid or Lyra would be up for ft, but if they are why don't we play?"

He rolled his eyes and set his empty glass down. It's not like this was high school and touching someone's tits was groundbreaking. Would he mind it? No, but come on. "No, actually, that sounds like maybe a shitty idea. No offense."

"I concur with [Agent Designation – Dexter Hexley]," Spooks' synthesized voice added. "I advise you not to proceed with this activity [Agent Designation – Nancy Partridge], as it has a 97% chance of violating the Code of Conduct's section on Hazing and Workplace Harassment."

"Uh... Yeah," Astrid said. "I'll... Probably sit out too."

"Come on, it'll be all in good fun," Nancy said, swishing her drink again. She leaned back in the couch. "But it's only if you're comfortable with it, of course. No pressure. I don't think he'll go too far though, I doubt he wants to lose his kneecaps~."

Yeah, no shit he didn't.

"I mean, it's pretty stupid," Lyra shrugged, lacing her hands behind her head. "But it's just tits. Kyah, whatever, I'm in."

Astrid paused, looking down at the drink she'd been nursing all evening to little effect, then sighed and downed half of it in one go. She winced and hacked a few times before assuring Nancy she was fine. "...Alright, I guess I'll go along."

Nancy turned back to Dexter. "Well? If all three of us are fine with it there shouldn't be anything stopping you. I'm sure you'd have fun with it too~."

He let out a huff and threw his hands up. "Alright, sure. What do I have to lose? Other than my fucking knees apparently."

"I continue to have serious concerns about this activity even if all participants are verbally consenting," Spooks again protested, his face display flashing a worried expression. "Aside from potential violation of guidelines the consumption of alcohol leaves a 37% chance of at least one participant regretting their--"

"...Astrid, could you?", Nancy said.

"...Yeah." She turned to the robot. "You don't have to see this, Spooks... Sorry, I'm going to put you in sleep mode for a little bit."

"That is acceptable only if you can ensure all Code of Conduct guidelines are followed, Astrid."

"Yeah, something like that," she said sheepishly as she depressed his power button for a few seconds, his face dimming and his expression being replaced by a sleeping one.

"Now that that's settled," Nancy said, leaning across the coffee table and reaching out to remove Dexter;s glasses. She stood up, obtaining a napkin from the lounge's bar, and his vision went dark as Nancy tied it around his eyes.

He sat, a little indifferent but wondering what the hell he was getting himself into. There was the sound of feet shuffling around the space adjoining the coffee table, then some whispering. Voices were raised, which he assumed meant Lyra had found some reason to get pissed at Astrid again especially after Nancy firmly said the researcher's name loud enough for him to make out the words. Eventually he could tell someone was standing right in front of him, close enough their legs brushed against his.

"Just for the record, everyone agreed to this and I'm the one blindfolded like a dumb fuck," he said as he raised his hand and somewhat clumsily searched for the woman in front of him's chest. Frankly this would feel less skeevy if he wasn't entirely sober while Lyra and Nancy weren't. Astrid at least might've been drinking something non-alcoholic.

After some groping around blindly and muttering an apology for it, he was pretty sure he was laying his hand on someone's boob. He squeezed a bit, feeling around over her clothes though trying to be as respectful as it was possible to while, you know, squeezing someone's breasts. Whatever, he wasn't NOT having fun. This was about as innocent as sex games came anyway, probably. That said, there wasn't... All that much to squeeze, and he was feeling good about his answer.

"This has to be Lyra because there's nothing there," he said. There was a titter of laughter from, he thought, Nancy and the woman he was fondling clicked her tongue.

"Kyeheh--," alright, yes, Lyra, He removed his hand and laid it in his lap. "--unlike miss nepo baby it all goes to my brain cells, not my chest."

"--I don't even have..." Astrid sighed deeply. "Maybe this wasn't too great an idea."

"You can stop if you'd like." Nancy.

Astrid seemed to think about it for a moment. "No, I'll do it still. It does seem a little fun. And I guess it's pretty harmless."

"What about the size?", Lyra reminded him.

"Uh, right. A cup. Is that it?"

"Correct," she confirmed. "Good job, you're not entirely smooth brained."

Wow, thanks a lot. Lyra moved away and he heard more feet shuffling. He could only assume they were moving around more than necessary to just switch places to stop him from guessing based on positioning, which was clever. Finally someone stopped in front of him again.

Dexter ran his hand up a second time until it landed on her breast and gave it a light squeeze. She was definitely bigger than Lyra, he could tell that. Which, no disrespect to women with small boobs, he enjoyed. Reminding himself not to get too into this and that he was a grown fucking man, he squeezed a few more times and felt her in his hand as best he could through her shirt just to solidify his answer more.

"You're Nancy. And you already said you're a C cup so I guess I don't get any points for that."

Silence.

"...I'm Astrid," she said. "And I'm... Not a C cup."

He cringed and pulled his hand away from Astrid's breast. "B?"

"Yeah. And uh... Did you have to squeeze that much?"

"Shit. sorry," Dexter said. "You should have said something."

She let out a snort of laughter. "I mean, I guess I would have if you'd done it too much more. But I didn't want to spoil the game."

"Glad you're having fun at least," he said. Astrid stepped away in turn and he relaxed back into the couch cushion, reaching for the blindfold. "Not much point in keeping going since I know Nancy's next."

"For completion's sake it's only fair though," Nancy warbled, and he heard footsteps again. If she was offering he wasn't going to say no at this point.

He removed his hand from the napkin blindfold as Nancy stopped in front of him and, as weird as it was that he was touching basically the acting head of the facility's tits, set it down on her chest and gave a decent squeeze. She didn't really feel that different from Astrid in size, so at least he figured he hadn't made a total ass of himself mixing them up. Satisfied with that, he dropped his hand away and Nancy undid his blindfold. Dexter blinked a bit as he took a second to readjust to the light.

"I still don't really know what the point of that was." He reached for his glass hoping there was some bit of melted ice-diluted ginger ale left in it. Not really. He'd pour himself another when he got up. Lyra seemed content to go rummage around for a bag of chips behind the bar but Astrid did look a little embarrassed in the aftermath. He felt a little bad about that.

"What do you mean?", Nancy asked sweetly as she flopped back down on the couch. "It's just a bit of fun. We can call it a team trust-building exercise."

"Whatever you want to call it, can we agree not to do it again?"

She smiled. "I'll make no promises." It faded to a more conflicted expression quickly. "...We do have work to do though. So, let's be glad we had some silly fun while we could."

"You know what, yeah. I can drink to that."

(I will try to write more with the KG9 cast because I do have at least one other idea I'd like to play with and I feel like I owe the community something less sloppy after this)
