uhhhh im just copying my other post for the most part but gonna add a little bit more info. am welcoming any questions too, either here or in discord/dm.
also there's no overall theme to build towards, fell free to make a casual easy level that focuses on aesthetics, some kaizo bullshit that i probably won't be good at but will try my best, a linear level with one goal at the end, a sm64 style more sandboxy level with stars all over, or even just put together something nice to look at and explore with no real goal
people make levels in Mario Builder 64 which I then play and maybe stream or upload to youtube (boring with no commentary probably)
people can play them themselves or just watch my video and then vote on their favorites!
I can't really offer something but if someone volunteers to help there might be a badge for participants
my goal with this is mostly to get new mario 64 levels to play to get people to try their hand at making some sm64 levels.
perceived quality, quantity, and completion state are irrelevant. if you so much as hit save on a level I'll take it and play it, and voting is just for fun
some resources here
https://parallel-launcher.ca i recommend using this just for the automation and ease of use it provides, but also to save/load levels it's kind of needed anyways cause quote from the setup guide below "Parallel Launcher and Luna's Project64 are currently the only emulators usable by Mario Builder 64 thanks to the virtual SD card emulation support, though there may be more options in the future."
it has integration with the site romhacking.com below if you make an account but that's entirely optional
it's basically just a retroarch frontend with extra bells and whistles and you can grab it on windows linux or mac even if that's relevant to you
https://romhacking.com/hack/mario-builder-64 place to either grab the patch, or more easily if you have parallel launcher setup just click the play button and it'll just auto patch and boot up for you
https://rentry.co/mb64-setup-guide this is the general setup guide for getting the thing up and running, it needs a sm64 rom which i can point you towards just dm me
https://levelsharesquare.com/MB64/levels this place is a database of levels other people have made if you want to look in for inspiration or see how other approach building levels
i encourage you to post about what you're working on and maybe workshop with each other, maybe bounce concepts and techniques off of each other or even discuss the finer mechanics of the game
when uploading you could use that database i linked or you could just send them right to me through discord or some filehost i think they're small enough for that
oh i guess also it'd be a good idea to shoot for a soft deadline of 2 weeks from now on the 15th, the usual garrison time limit
i'll accept anything after though
Level List:

Gelato Beach by elyk
Bonus! tossed this level together myself as a small sample of the kind of dumb shit people like to put in their hacks sometimes
