miyamoto's reclamation of donkey kong will be complete by 2026
He's kind of a hybrid? I like him. He just looks like the Rare one but happy
Also I will say that initial sketch for the rare design kinda sucks since he just looks like a big cube
I will stand by my belief that the illumination designs are good, and we'd better get used to them because I'd say there's like a 70% chance the Switch 2 Mario game takes place in the movie universe

It's like they were reverse-engineered based off of in-depth descriptions of the character designs. They're "good" versions of designs I thought were already great, and it's hard not to be a little bit disappointed by that. I don't think Nintendo's lack of attention to detail in regards character animation over the years was the fault of the existing character designs, Next Level Games' output proves that to me.
Next Level Games should probably make every Mario game from now on judging by how expressive the characters in Luigi's Mansion 3 were
I can't wait to see more of the new Mario Kart. The glow up is subtle, probably moreso than one would like for the reveal of a new console, but it's there for those willing to scrutinize the details.
We got full facial animation and squash and stretch techniques on the kart as it hops. Mario Kart 8 was such a massive leap forward for the series and I have similarly high expectations for this game, especially after how well 8 Deluxe sold.

Mario and Luigi look sweet. They remind me of the old N64 renders.
