First, I'm gonna change into some ratty cowboy clothes and climb up the Water Tower with a hunting rifle from the gun store. I'd like to get North Star to prop up a body from the Mines with a broom or something, then I'll take a shot at it like the one that took out Stiles. How does the body fall?

After I do that, prop up the body again and make the same shot, this time with North Star looking away. When I make the shot, I'd like him to turn to look at my spot on the tower, and as soon as I make the shot, I'll dive into the water. Does he see anything?

I'll do the same thing again, but this time I'll have North Star in the train aiming his pistol at the body. Can he see me from where he is?

Then, try the same checks but with the Outhouse. Instead of diving into the water, I will duck either behind or inside the Outhouse after I make my shot. Does the body fall similar to Derek still? Can North Star see me if I hide? Am I visible from the train if he is also aiming at Derek?



Ah, yeah. Let's check the hotel room for any firearms too. The roof as well, and the general area outside the windows.

You perform the checks in question.

First: Propping up the body with a broom, then shooting it in the head, causes it to fall backwards, head towards the train and feet towards the water tower and yellow building.

Second: You make the shot, and dive into the water. By the time he's looked over, he does not see anything.

Third: He cannot. There's an open air canopy that blocks water tower sight.

Fourth: The body still falls in the same area as long as you fire from the Outhouses.

Fifth: North Star cannot see you if you hide.

Sixth: It looks like you'd have to keep the door open and then use it as a shield, or otherwise lurk behind the Outhouse. Seems like if you just stand there in the open, you could be seen from the Caboose by someone aiming directly at the body.

Check Mizzlebip to see if anything's been taken from her.

Make sure the Ranger handles her corpse respectfully.

Never got around to submitting these so let's do some more shooting checks. String/prop up a body (preferably Reginald's if it's viable) around where Derek would have been when he was killed, take a rifle, and shoot from varying positions, the Water Tower, Outhouses, and the Hotel and/or another convenient perch in the yellow building. What can we discern by comparison about the angle the killing shot may have come from?

Doctor... It was your guidance that taught me I can always learn something from even a failed operation, but does a lesson have to hurt so much? Not even Instructor Dobermann was this cruel... Hmph. To set the stage, I left the dormitory via Carpentry. Ace Ventura was there, constructing something, I didn't get a precise view of what. I went south towards the Locomotive and saw the victim, Derek Stiles, in the Cemetary . Knowing the extent of his Arts now, I can probably guess what he was doing...

I entered the Locomotive and did a thorough sweep in an attempt to find any potential information that may help our campaign. However, I was ultimately unsuccessful in my search. Exiting the Locomotive west, I saw Nico Yazawa going towards the Caboose. From here I made it to the General Store; I needed to equip myself with a flashlight because...

Having recalled that Head of Security Elster made mention the screen in the Theater was not flush with the wall, I made that my next stop. Investigation revealed there is something written on the inside of the projection screen itself, but my flashlight wasn't powerful enough to read it. Maybe now that it is daylight hours, we could possibly reveal what it says?



Now on to the real meat and potatoes of the night, Doctor -- what I am temporarily referring to as the Chapel Mission. Partitio was planning on performing an arcane ritual to bring forth Spencer Edwards -- whether his body or spirit, it's not my position to say. However... This may be a "Killing Game", but I still need to think of the safety and stability of the civilian population here. Arts like those may bring on a Catastrophe this town hasn't seen and isn't prepared for. It cannot even move! And -- I already said I would make my decisions and own them, no matter what they were.

So yes, I attempted to disrupt the ritual. I passed Roland vis a vis the Lobby, paying him no mind; my focus was all on the people in the Chapel -- well documented at this point, but to reiterate they were the corpse of Reginald Fikwerther, Partitio, Ranger, Zhen, the Black Horse, and a burdenbeast. Nonlethal submission was my goal, so I threw a smoke bomb and disabled them temporarily.

However, Ranger must have some music-based Arts or something, as he began playing the banjo to distract me and kick me. Partitio also threw a glass jar with... something in it that hurt like crazy, and still hurts a little today... Geez, Cautus' are sensitive, you know~? But while attempting to divest them of their burden, a black clad figure entered from the south, shooting wildly. I guess I owe Partitio my life, because they barely avoided hitting me thanks to his attack too. A second black figured entered, also from the south; in wild confusion, Partitio completes the ritual and is surrounded by a golden light.

It quickly faded away, leaving him exhausted on the ground -- but knowing the danger wasn't finished with us this, I gave Ranger a rough shove. Well, that saved both our lives, as an explosion was triggered afterward and we both were dispatched for the rest of the night.

While you still can't determine the vertical angle, you CAN narrow down the horizontal angle. The horizontal angle from which a body could be shot in the way Derek was, and land in the way Derek was found, is limited to firing from a range between the Water Tower and the Hotel. Further left or right and the angle does not work.

Can I look at Derek's clothes? Aside from the things he has picked up from various players, what is he wearing?

You put on a movie, and begin your tests.

Your first batch of rooms where you begin to try the Water Tower shot test is:

Saloon: Yes.
Movie Theater: No.
Executive Office: No.
Archives: No.
Lobby: No.

However, you find that you could hear a faint gunshot in the Movie Theater if it was silent. A movie of any volume drowns it out.

The other rooms in the Blue Building would not hear the gunshot even if the movie was off.

Nothing of note, except for a fallen set of silver ingots. To their side is a puddle of water.

So Honoka was in on all this...honestly, not surprised. I had a feeling there might be a third and I didn't think it would be the other two. For now, let's just ignore it and focus on the case. Remember what happened when we tried to get rid of Momoyo?



I spent the a lot of my night on the catering. but I did start out with heading to the general store to grab some paints and a brush, and to look at the door for a second. Nico and North Star were both in here as well. I went back over to green after that to head to the chapel for a second, though I stopped in Newspaper along the way to share a drink with Ace Ventura. He's a pretty cool dude! Then I went to the chapel around the time Zalsarona was leaving, and I promptly painted "DON'T DO IT" on the alter.



I still think you should have listened.

I left for yellow right after that, it was time to work on the catering! On my way to the kitchen, I was stopped by Akira demanding some fancy water. I chose to ignore the girl who killed at her own birthday party, and just went upstairs to start cooking as Elster went downstairs. I decided to make some angel food cake and devils food cake tonight. I thought it was fitting. Zhen showed up sometime after I started to make some pie, followed by McJango who wanted some treats. I probably shouldn't have fed him, but he was very polite! I have a certain soft spot for cats. Anyway, that's around the time Akira came up to recruit McJango for her movie. Honoka and North Star were with her. After they left, I focused on cooking until I finished my cakes, noting that Zhen had left at some point.

I headed over to green and...please, did you really think I was going to deliver the food in chapel? There was no way I was going to risk that, so I brought it to newspaper instead. I just waited there for a while, ready to pounce if something happened, though the only person that passed through was Not Shane, who sampled the cake and then went to the dorms. I continued to be on guard, and eventually...



Ugh! The chapel got LOUD. I heard a lot of scuffling, then some gunfire, and THEN something exploded. When all was clear, I went in there to see the damage. Partitio, Lita, and Ranger were all knocked out on the ground, with Zhen, the black horse, and an ox all standing over them, looking confused. Also, the south entrance was on fire.



Can we not mess with murder gods again, please? Was that REALLY necessary?

After pouring some holy water on Partitio's head, I went back to newspaper for a bit, and caught up with Zalsarona briefly, who approved my cooking. If you ever need me to help with the food again, you can count on me! I left a bit after that and FINALLY caught up with Evangeline we went to the saloon to chat for a bit. While we were there, we heard a couple of faint gunshots, one from the west and the other southwest. Probably safe to assume this was around when the doctor checked out. Then Bud walked in to head upstairs, and then Not Shane entered and asked us if we wanted to play cards. I was too tired though, maybe tonight? After this, Evangeline and I both went to our dorms to sleep.
