Did anyone else ever hear this growing up? I'm gonna assume there's a good chance considering you lot spent your formative years on a Mario fan gaming board. I was blown away the first time I encountered this phenomenon expressed online, I never would have guessed other people would have heard this same garbage.

What was the point of this? You've just shone a spotlight on that fact I'm reclusive and all that makes me want to do is 180 back to my cave.

my mom used to tease me a bit about it but then soon enough realized that it was easily the best way to live and acknowledged that to me a few years later.

extended family and family friend meetings were the only time people stupid enough to say stuff like that were around and they didn't know my living habits so it never really came up with them.

i knew what the image in the OP was going to be before i even clicked.

i used to get this kind of commentary when i was a teenager, but it's kind of gone away in recent years (thankfully) and it was only ever from immediate family. i don't know if it's just because i got older, or because i got better at talking to people (or maybe they gave up hope)

I could come out and be all "oh wow, look at all you social butterflies glued to the table, I pity how you waste your time" and it would be rude as fuck. So why is it just friendly banter for them to deliberately make us feel insecure

And nobody wants to actually try and understand how another person feels, because 75% of people are extroverts, and in practice the number is much higher because all the other introverts want to be left the fuck alone just lke you do. So when you go out into the world, 99% of the people you encounter are extroverts, and they'll want to hear your life story while you wait for them to just hurry up and make your fucking sandwich. Because if you don't want to talk there's something wrong with you as far as these normal "oh boy social interaction is the bees knees" people are concerned

Never really got this from anyone that wasn't in my immediate family and even then I'll own up to it by saying shit like "Yo, just got this game; don't fw me for a day."

Not only would my family do this growing up, but they'd also force me out of my room with threats of shutting off internet or power if I spent too long "being antisocial" and they'd do this at completely random times.

This made me paranoid about starting on literally anything, playing anything, or watching anything because I knew it was going to be interrupted by stupid bullshit. I took like a whole year of being moved out to actually be able to do things because living my entire childhood in fear of having to drop everything I was doing at any given time fucked me up pretty bad.

I never played games with online friends either out of fear that they'd hate me for having to leave so much. Dark times.

i always shared a room with my brothers and this would happen to us at big family gatherings when we got older and realized hanging around a bunch of racist old people who have no personality beyond being racist and sarcastic sucked, so we'd go hide in our room
