World War III. The Earth's First and Final Nuclear War.
The resulting destruction and nuclear fall out has left large amounts of the world completely uninhabitable.
Country borders are shattered. Deserts where forests were. Toxic forests where cities war. The United States is nothing more than an enormous crater now.
Failing to find any means of true compromise, the remaining people divide themselves into the various sections of the world that are still inhabitable. Each individual submits to the identity of a single culture. They follow strict rules to regulate this:
1)You may only identify as a single cultural identity. Transitioning to a new cultural identity is an act of treason to your nation.
2)You may only eat and drink foods and beverages that are consistent with your cultural identity.
3)You may only speak the language of your cultural identity.
4)You may only have a significant other/partner with an identical cultural identity.
5)All non-culturally identifiable individuals will be scene as exiles
Due to the waning population, there are now only __ Official Cultures, corresponding with the remaining 8 continents colonized.

GREAT EURUSSIA
An amalgamation of what is left of the Central Western world, Great Eurussia is easily the most densely populated of the nations, despite being divided among 3 islands.
English, Scotts, Germans, and Russians have come to find their home here. They identify as "Eurusso" and the overall culture is most reminiscent of Victorian England. They rely heavily on steam power, and stake pride in their engineering.

NEO ASIA
China, Korea, Vietnam, and Polynesia have all claimed stakes on Neo Asia. Claiming the most land of any continent and numerous islands, Neo Asians are the most divided of the nations. Though economically and on militaristic levels they can be seen as one entity, the social structures have remained split between Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, and Polynesian. Because of this they teeter constantly on threats of civil war. Neo Asia has abandoned their technologies, and the dystopian architecture is all that remains of their former technological genius.

CANADA
During WWIII, Canada and France became allies in arms and merged much of their assets in order to fortify themselves. Because of this, they now possess one of the most stable nations on the planet, despite their odd aesthetic of Medieval Snowbound crusaders. They have extremely cultivated land and their resources are highly sought after by the other nations. However, the harsh weather and well protected city-states make them a force to be reckoned with, though in an oddly apologetic way.

SPAINLATIN
South America, Spain, Portugal, Jamaica, and Central America took one of the second largest casualty counts during the War, and now Spainlatin sadly has too few resources to provide for themselves status beyond a third world country. Riddled by terrible weather and consistent natural disasters, the culture is less focused on preserving it's integrity, and more focused on keeping it's small population alive and fed.

NEO INDIA
A metropolis of culture and prosperity, Neo India boasts incredibly advanced technology not often rivaled in the current world. Claiming ownership over all of the world's remaining gold reserves, Neo India is currently the richest nation of them all. A celebrated culture of festivities and extravagance, Buddhislam is heavily steeped into their culture with it's religious undertones. Though they are a force to be reckoned with, their culture has not advanced much beyond the dawn of the 21st century and as such their trade and importing practices have given them vulnerable weaknesses in their society that thankfully have yet to be exploited. All of lower Europe and Asia, with the exception of the Mahgreb (Egypt, Iraq, Isreal, etc.) have submitted to becoming "Indian".

AFRICA MAJOR
The Mahgreb, the Ivory Coast, and South America found common brotherhood after the war, and now harbor good will and excellent trade practices. No longer a starving, dying culture, African society has advanced in their own way to an advanced urban society. Embracing the great history of their ancestry as the original civilization, they have prioritized survival and familial heritage over economic and technological advancements. For this reason, Africans are the most fortified and protected of all the nations, and have been considered an impregnable fortress greater than that which Canada boasts. Though they aren't the most modern society, they have advanced to a point where they are completely self-sufficient.

THE OUTER BACK
One of the last 2 bastions of nuclear development and research, Australia absorbed through dominance of New Zealand, and the rest of Oceania's nations to form the war-mongering juggernaut, The Outer Back. To call them a nation or culture is a misnomer, as the depict themselves as more of a radioactive factory. Though their engineering and technology is truly worthy of boasting, "Outbackers" are also comprised of a numerous amount of exiles from the other nations that have been swayed by the propaganda of a "New World Order" and "Global Dominance". Though this makes them possibly the most diverse culture, they are also proudly ethnocentric and children learn to maneuver themselves around nuclear fission at a very young age.

NEW JERSEY
The last bastion of America. A particularly small population, Jersians tend to live somewhat nomadic lives near the coastlines. Though they tend to have a strong community and jovial attitude, they also have been known to boast quite the temper. This is likely due to the fact that when a car or transportation is required, they have to deal with the 3 worst things to survive World War III: The Jersey Turnpike, The Jersey DMV, and the Jersey Shoreline. Bless their heart, those sad fools.

A NEW, FINAL WORLD WAR IS ON THE HORIZON, BUT THIS WILL BE UNLIKE ANY WAR IN HISTORY.
