Everyone bitches about MK8's roster because of the Koopalings, but literally everyone else they were realistically gonna have is there. People need to give up on RPG characters and Wart and shit like that. They're even adding back Drybones, King Boo and Bowser Jr. for MK8 Deluxe. The only character that could even be considered "missing" is Diddy Kong, and he's no doubt seen as expanded universe Donkey Kong character.

I honestly can't figure out why there isn't a roster of like 30 characters to pick from; it's not like they need that much animating, and there's an archive of generic "whhooOOOAAH!!" voice clips for every character dating back 20 yrs (and those characters that don't have voices yet can just be haphazardly voiced by Charles Martinet)

Don't forget that the character stats are all mild adjustments and most characters are clones of other ones anyways.
