I'd like to look around the Carpentry Room for anything that may be missing, or maybe out of place.

Also, those Ashes you mentioned that were in the furnace, any other details on those? Color? Smell? Anything?

You investigate the Carpentry Room. There's a bunch of wood that's been taken, and a bunch of wood shavings at the carpenter's bench. There's also a few items missing - a hammer, some nails, two hacksaws, a screwdriver, and some screws.

You look at the ashes, and can't really make anything out of them. Whatever it was has been burned completely. All you can say is it can't have been large.

You investigate the Recording Studio, and listen to the recordings. There's some footage of Pohatu practicing being a sports commentator.

Let's try and confirm the workings of the apparent bomb.

What I'm not sure of is exactly how it was triggered, but we get a sense of how it would work. Pyrite can spark, but it can also explode in high heat, which seems to be what happened here. I'm assuming the high heat was provided by the burning pile of wood, ignited by the blowtorch.

Taking some leftover hog meat as a stand-in for Pohatu and placing it in the Ruined Mine room, assemble a pile of pyrite from Mineral Storage nearby it, next to a pile of wood from, say, Carpentry. Position a Blacksmith blowtorch on top of the pile of loose wood, and find some wire or string or something that can be pulled to tip it over from a distance, for safety.

Turn the blowtorch on, then tip it over so the wood begins to burn. What happens to the nearby pyrite?

If the answer is "nothing", try grinding some of the pryite down, then re-run the experiment. If the answer is still nothing, mix some of the pyrite into the wood pile directly. If at any point the pyrite explodes outwards, does it embed itself in the hog meat?

Using the remaining pyrite, the blowtorch and string setup, and some Carpentry wood, you discover the following:

-If they are two separate piles, nothing happens. The wood burns down and leaves a burnt pile, but the pyrite is left untouched. This happens regardless of the statue of the pyrite.
-If you combine them into one pile, then after a bit, the pyrite in the wood overheats and bursts apart with a popping noise. This happens with enough force that the pyrite is scattered around the room, and the hog meat is violently embedded with pyrite.

I'd be lying if I said that this surprised me. The Bureau of Paranormal Investigation has been keeping an eye on Deathborn, and the setup was suspicious enough that I decided someone needed to investigate this personally. So, here I am. At risk in a Killing Game.

Well, that's the risk we take in this line of work. I assume you want my report.

I woke up, and went down to look at the Locomotive. The parts taken from it make it useless for anything other than a place to sit. Still, it's interesting to me that it was only disabled, not destroyed like the bus was... I also looked at Station Storage and the Passenger Lounge, and then heard a gunshot. Investigating it, I found Lynne, who had apparently fired it off in response to a camera flash. Please don't be trigger-happy.

I spent some time speaking with her, before heading to the party at the Saloon. I saw Ace Ventura, Ranger, King of Clubs, McJango, and Honoka when I arrived, and Kroos arrived shortly thereafter. A little while later, Roland and Zalsarona went upstairs to begin cooking, and Lynne joined them shortly thereafter. Partitio, Marisa, Momoyo and Derek Stiles arrived as well, the latter on his own but the former three as a group.

The three chefs brought down their meal, and began serving. Roland destroyed the piano, but I assume he had good reasons. We spoke at length tonight, and I feel he's on the same page as I am. During that, I saw a few other people enter - Akira, Jessica, Neil, and the duo of North Star and Bud.

After that, I had some more questions of my own to answer, and went to the second floor of the purple building to search. I met Hollywood Bowl there, and we toured those rooms while he filmed them. Then I returned to my dorm and slept. Happy to provide any clarifications.

The lone figure from before catches your eye once more. This time, it seems she has a buddy.

What could she be up to? This large,, black stallion-like beast is clearly too dangerous and wild to be considered a worthy steed. It must be some equine approximation of a jester's worst nightmare. Even as she grins at it, with the familiarity of an old friend, the beast simply stares at her, barely contented by the silent company she provides. Why, any horse expert would know she's three shakes of an apple away from a stomping and a whinny, as she has already experienced. But to tell that story, we must start from the beginning...



Before forging a delicate relationship with this new beast, our intrepid outlaw made her way to the General Store, itchin' for supplies befitting a horse wrangler of her stature. Apples, hay, and not forgetting an appropriate hairdo for the beast from the Courthouse. Then, after greeting one Hifumi, who she saw going to the Sheriff's Office, she found it necessary to equip herself with the self-defence tools she daren't be without in the desert. In this helpful Gun Store, she was promptly caught on camera (a camera which has since vanished...), but left her colleague Lynne to investigate as she entered.

Gunpowder in tow, she then sought a very important friendship in our story's secondary hero - the black stallion. After much time and little witness to her efforts (just Kroos exiting the Farrier and exiting west, and then Jessica having a much easier time with the beast's white brother...), the creature agreed to accompany her. The heroic pair patrolled the south end of the map, seeing many an unusual sight. Why, a figure on the water tower was the least of her worries! It seems justice and good hearts are in short supply in this town, hence why the ugly twins, Elster and Marisa, had to be forcibly prevented from committing the gravest sin of all upon each other, murder.

Now, around this time, she heard a miserable sound of pops and a cut-off scream towards the Orange building, and upon further investigation, she discovered the very much dead body of Pohatu! His corpse was a nasty sight, the room decorated with clusters of ash and metal. But, a sheriff's work is preventative, not restorative. So our Lady Mizzlebip steeled her resolve and refined her sharpshooting skills in the Target Practice room, before escorting the beast back to his stable. It seems his pale brother has found somewhere else to sleep tonight.

It seems she has called this beast, 'Nozzleburp', a name interpreted from divine origins. Her quest to tame such a ferocious, free spirit continues...

Let's take another look at that wire, hey? How long is it? Does it look like there's wire anywhere else in here?

First things first, I head straight to my office - passing Tsavorae in the army post. Soon as I arrive, I find The Noise and Hifumi rummaging around. I give them a friendly reminder that this is my office. I m the sheriff.

The Noise says he is my deputy, and I am inclined to accept his offer - until Tsavorae arrives and says that she is my deputy. Seems trustworthy enough, I suppose ...

Hifumi leaves for the army post and the three of us get to work.



Suddenly, a stranger bursts in. He keeps asking us about "Texas Red"⠀. I tell him we'll keep an eye out.

Madame Zalsarona passes through from the army post to the south, Deputy #2 The Noise heads off into the store, and the Ranger follows shortly after.⠀⠀ I head off, leaving Tsavorae to take care of things.

I take a look through the documents in the Mayor's office - whoever this '⠀mayor' is .. he doesn't seem to show up. Not much to note.

I then decide it's time to pay the town's lawyer a visit, and spot Hifumi in the laundry room on my way⠀. I find Deathborn in the office and tell him : i' mthe sheriff. He better not get in my way .

After that, I head next door to the tobacconist to grab a cigar - but theres none left! What kinda town runs out of cigars in one day... I grab some cigarettes and I⠀head back downstairs spotting Marisa. Momoyo and ⠀Partido near the orange building, and Akira on my way to the red building. WHoever named these buildings, I sure hope they got paid handsomel

In the post office, I search around for any interesting letters. Looks like I wasn't the only one with that idea. I find a letter from Honoka to Hollywood Bowl, but ⠀thats all. I search around in the upstairs rooms for any keys or secrets , but nothing jumps out at me.

I d ecide to work on my aim with some target practice. Heading to ⠀the orange ⠀⠀building, I pass by Bud and North Star, and spot Hifumi in carpentry. In the target range , I teach those targets who the sheriff is. It s me . But also ⠀I hear some popping and screaming from the room downstairs.

I head outside through carpent⠀y spotting Partido and Hifumi outside, and ⠀spot Hollywood Bowl just as he's about to enter the purple building. I tell him that I⠀ve heard of ⠀⠀his movie and I want in. I tell him that I'm going to play the sheriff and read off some lines. He seems impressed.

Now it's finally time to pay a visit to the saloon, spotting Mr Zeppeli leaving the stables on my way. Lotta people in here - Zalsarona, ⠀Lynne, Kroos, Jessica, Cascabela... - on the ground Hifumi and Momoyo are out cold - and Ace Ventura, Roland and King of Clubs are at the bar. I tell King of Clubs to gimme a drink.



He does it correctly the second time

Deathborn enters ⠀and I rope him into a game of poker, with King of Clubs, North Star, Zalsarona and Jessica. I also grab a plate of lasagna from the kitchen.

Naturally I wiped the floor ⠀with them. You can;t outsmart the Sheriff... and I'm the Sheriff. We all call it a night - apart from North Star who heads off into the restaurant. I head back to bed.

Okay, all of you craps-for-brains, I know that you've gotta know what Strong Bad was up to or you'll be in suspense forever, so here's my freaking sweet account.

If I want to play the part of a cool evil hombre in this movie, I gotta look the part. So I start off by going to the gun store for some sweet holstered revolvers to pack on my bodacious hips. As I leave, I see the Ranger enter the store. I head over to the green building for the next part of my outlaw fit, a big old sombrero and a cool bandana, maybe with like a skeleton or a dragon or a dragon skeleton on it. Lynne drops down from a freakin' helicopter as I entered the tailor, and while I'm in the tailor, I get an understanding head-knod from Partito.

Now this next part is where it gets real dastardly. I head over to the outhouse where I hide to scare people, epic prank video style. When I jump out and spook the Noise, he gets real freaked out, but most importantly...he's...smoldering? And then he buries something behind the outhouse.

I go back to hiding and I scare Elster, then I run off laughing to my dorm.

It's pretty long. It looks to you like the wire is way more than would be necessary for holding down the blowtorch switch; even with it already tied around the blowtorch, there's a long length of wire just lying there. It doesn't seem like there's any wire elsewhere in the room.

The pile of burnt wood in the center doesn't seem like it has any signs of wire having touched it, but it does look like there's wood splinters on the wire itself.

-If you combine them into one pile, then after a bit, the pyrite in the wood overheats and bursts apart with a popping noise. This happens with enough force that the pyrite is scattered around the room, and the hog meat is violently embedded with pyrite.

It doesn't take long at all. If you set it alight, you could probably get about two rooms away before it went off with a burst.

Several Polaroid instant cameras are missing, as well as a long string of high-grade metal wire, some old nitrate film, a few motion sensors, some electrical wiring, and a prop gun.

They're a pair of gloves. There's nothing notable about them, other than being work gloves from the Blacksmith.

I think we shoild check out the Noise hole.

You investigate the area around the Outhouse, and notice a small hole has been dug and filled up. Digging it open, you find... a couple small potatoes. Huh. You politely rebury them.

I don't really know what is good to investigate right now. From what I understand there's been a wire-based fire trap that launches pyrite. Let's uh... investigate the ceiling above where the trap was set for now.

Where in the room is Pohatu's body situated? Is he on his front or back? How about the wire, which door is that closest to?

While we're lookin' at that, what's the status of that camera in the Blacksmith? Where in the room is it? Could it reasonably capture someone heading in from that graveyard outside?
