Gotta say, it's surprising how they manage to humanize the Diamonds. Yeah, they believe in maintaining a, "Form is function, everyone serves a purpose and ONLY that purpose," caste system, and little regard for anything non-gem (as anything besides an animal, at least), but it serves to remind us that however bad their position and views are, they're still people.
