the purpose of art is to draw an emotional response

so if games give you joy, that's enough to qualify them as art

people can't appreciate the art in good game design

I think I worded my post wrongly. I was referring to the way games have been progressing lately where it feels like an interactive movie i.e. Telltale games. Reading back on the original post it was written poorly lmao sorry for the bad post.

not entirely sure why it matters, maybe im just too simple to really understand, but whether its art or not doesnt really take or give anything to a video game, but thats just me.
