yes I get the could've, should've, would'ves. This is a real situation though, and future real situations look bleak with this thread.

Reports of these kinds of issues are going to come in all shapes and sizes due to the nature of them. I'm not saying you need to give everyone a fucking medal of honor for saying something but you certainly can do at least the bare minimum of not accusing them of doing so for a stunt

I'm going to save you from another 5 pages of obnoxious back and forth since I don't think certain members are capable of making a coherent post. Feel free to speculate who I'm talking about.
Kesha is saying that liking anime porn is grounds to assume someone is a groomer. In my opinion liking anime porn is gross but it is certainly is not equivalent to corruption of a minor. I think we already decided that no one really needs to talk about anime porn on this Mario forum so it's a moot point either way. Now you can lock the thread.

please don't put words in my mouth about a different issue

To be honest, by his actions in that original thread it was clear that Drei was not going to file a report until he was shat on for vagueposting to begin with. He only relented and made the report with more information after he was called out for his post.

He absolutely would have just had us run around playing Sherlock Holmes without providing any information from his end if people did not criticise him for his initial behavior.

yes, because he didn't trust you guys to handle the situation appropriately. which is why it was brought up in that thread. and now we have this thread proving that true.

and my entire point is that it was not only 'unnecessary' but calls into question you guys ability to handle reports with tact

just wanted to say that no one who actually posts here questions anyone's ability to handle a competently submitted report. competently submitted in this case means that it both names a member and identifies a time in which they've broken a rule.

A big chunk of this discussion seems to revolve around trust and how drei did not trust site staff to act on his report hence his initial, so I'm going to ask a question then, and the floor is open for this one. This isn't meant to provoke, nor start an argument, I'm just looking for basic opinions to see where people really stand on this outside of specifically Stir, Spritanium, and Mario, who clearly would answer "No" to this question but if not, hey go ahead and say so.

Before this whole thing started, what was your opinion of the site staff? Did you trust them to act on issues that were reported to them, or at least look into said issues reasonably? What about now? Has it changed?

This is unrelated to the, frankly, completely ridiculous assertion that you guys wouldn't do anything about a pedo groomer if you were given evidence to support that insane accusation (of course you would deal with it appropriately and anyone who says otherwise is just being a shitter)...

...but I do think you guys aren't very transparent when it comes to telling people who have reported things that you have talked to or addressed the other person. Often you will only say you addressed it when I or someone else asserts that you haven't responded to their concerns in discord.

The most recent example is probably in regards to someone suggesting I be permabanned and the staff member says to another staffer "well I did talk to that member" in passing instead.

Other than that, I do think moderation is a bit lax on purpose but I do trust you to handle serious situations when you have the appropriate evidence and shit to go off of.

Whether he trusts them or not, he can't just bring up that accusation publicly for literally everyone including search engines to read and then blatantly reveal who he was talking about in the very thread in which he (and everyone else) was told not to do that shit.
